I never set out to be an Interior Designer, indeed my “first career” was as a theatre performer and dancer. However whilst looking to move away from this I started to look into the world of Interior Design.
It soon became clear that many aspects of my life had been highly influenced by design and the joy of beautiful interiors and architecture, so this coupled with my gift of spacial awareness and exceptional organising skills, made for a perfect start to my new career.
I trained, collaborated and worked under renowned London-based international designer Lyndall Fernie and it was from her encouragement and my passion for implementing in life the designs of my drawings that I decided to establish Richmond-Caines Interior Design.
Personally, I absolutely love pairing the traditional craftsmanship with modern elements. Whether that be playing with colour or having touches of contemporary design which enhances an artist like a carpenter.
I love designing spaces for clients that fit into their lifestyle and really start to enjoy it.
I get super excited when a project is complete and my clients feel like they are home where a house works for them and their loved ones.
My ultimate goal in working with clients is to make an interior truly bespoke for how they live their lives and how they want to feel when home.
There are always compromises when working with an existing home, my job is to limit how much you work for the house, and let the house work for you.
